Former CEO of Equitable LifeUntil recently, Simon was the CEO of Equitable Life Assurance Society, an £8 billion mutual life and pensions company, once the largest in the UK and most famous for nearly going bust at the turn of the century. Simon executed a de-risking strategy to improve solvency and release capital, before changing the strategy to one that returned £1.8 billion of capital to members and transferred these new policies to another company. A qualified accountant, Simon previously worked at Lloyds Banking Group in senior finance and general management roles, latterly driving restructuring and cost reduction initiatives across the group.
